BJP Telangana unit President Dr Laxman, MLA welcomed the Court verdict on Mecca Masjid blast case.

Eleven years after an IED (Improvised Explosive Device ) went off during Friday prayers at Mecca Masjid adjacent to the historic Charminar killing nine people and injuring more than 50 others, the Special Court for trial of National Investigation Agency (NIA) cases on Monday acquitted all the five accused persons for lack of evidence.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, Dr Laxman said that the Court verdict was a 'slap on the face' of Congress and Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (MIM) and added AICC President Rahul Gandhi should tender an apology for using ''hindu terror'.

He said 'false cases had been lodged against the innocent people and they had lost their valuable life in the Jail'. Who would be responsible for this, he questioned. While finding fault with some parties (by not naming them) for flaying the Court verdict, Dr Laxman said the final verdict was announced after examining 266 witness and verifying 411 documents. The same parties had hailed Court verdict on 2G Spectrum case, but now they are finding fault on the court judgement, Mr Laxman said.
